What is Invention ? What is Patent ?
Invention is defined as the solution of a spesific problem in industry including agriculture.
Patent is the right of inventor which allows him to produce, use, sell and export the invented product.

Will my Patent Registration be Valid All Over the World?
Patents are only valid in the country which it has been taken in. The patent which has been taken in Turkey, only gives right in Turkey and if products with patent are imported by others in Turkey, it gives the right of stopping the import operation.
If you want to get the right of patent, you can apply countries one by one or you can use the international systems like PCT(Patent Cooperation Treaty) and EPC( Europe Patent Contract)
Utility Model
Utility model can be called as small patent and with utility model certificate, small entities are encouraged for invention and to be used in industry.
What are the criterias for the protection of the invention by giving utility model certificate?
· Novelty; absolute novelty is defined as not to express written, orally or applying by others before application.
· Applicable to industry; instead of being theoretical, the invention can be put into practice.

Patent and Utility Model Protection periods are different.
Protection period of patent with search is 20 years.
Protection period of patent without search is 7 years.
Protection period of utility model is 10 years.
